**I would wake up, on an autumn day, with my kitten curled next to me. Sunshine, yet chilly. Head to have a breakfast of fresh figs and an almonds croissant and a cup of coffee. After getting dressed in a soft fisherman sweater, and black tights, with new leather boots, new vs. old vintage brown leather bag. My hair so wispy, soft and long. Clean and fresh. Head out into the autumn air, with leaves colorful at my feet.

The morning would be wandering the streets of Paris, taking photographs of people placed and things, all by myself. Lovely alone time. Taking in the beauty. I would stop by Laduree for macaroons (2 pistachio, 1 rose water, 1 violet, and 1 hazelnut) and chat with kind strangers! Head later to a bridge over the seine to have a picnic lunch with my friend, of baguette sandwiches goats cheese, fresh fruit, and sans sucre cola. Then I head to shop around all the best vintage shops, while having unlimited spending! Stop and sit under a beautiful tree in le jardin de Luxemburg, and read some magazines, while listening to the best music. Spot the most gorgeous French boys, kind gentle smile. ride around on a vespa for the rest of the afternoon.

Diner, In a fancy restaurant - a savory crepe, with ratatouille, glass of red wine, followed by a shared crème brulee and cappuccino. After dinner ate outside the café, smoking, and people watching, and people watching me. Smile at little old ladies and cute little children, stop at windows to peer in. I am capturing the night on film, He kisses me, and we make plans for lunch in the truillerie gardens the next day.
Up in the little elevator, by myself to my apartment. Undress for bed, and smile at myself in the mirror marveling over the magical day I embarked on. Plop into my huge duvet, soft white clean linen bed, with my child hood furry friends, and go to sleep, with no worries, knowing I am safe.

Hello! random LONG post alert!

Even though lullabye is not a food blog, there are trends in food as there are in fashion, and how our food "style" has changed through over the course of Maya and Eliza's blogs!
a '"time line" ?hmm.... ;]
OY there are a lot ;] haha
both of us, started our food/recovery blogs in oct. 08, its quite interesting to notice the change in tastes, habits, food ruts and food obsessions we both went through! along with personal struggles.
Our taste buds are always changing, and we are open to trying new things. From The first lara bar we had....ever! :0 (pistachio) ;]
to the first time we made swiss oats!
first fresh figs of the season.
and first time having cashew butter(our love)
our Birthday.
going out to eat.
++Tons of oatmeal(we are surprised we dont look like the Quaker oat man ;P (not that we use Quaker oats, but you know what we mean? ;] hehe (he is quite ugly,..no offense Mr. Quaker :P
such yummy things!
introducing food back into our life...re-learning what foods Maya and Eliza truly love...
it has been quite a roller coaster of a ride...let us tell you!
We think it is fun to reminisce.. non? ;] --"remember when i had that, remember that day!?" :] food brings back memories, and tells such a story.
How cool?... or is it weird? that its all documented on my blog! or eliza's blog!
along the way, we both have learned a lot about what we like. We came to the conclusion that we really enjoy hot things eaten out of bowls with spoons :P fruit fruit and fruit and more fruit!. especially dried fruit! nuts nuts and more nuts!...we are nuts ;P
bananas, figs! raisins galore! ...Carrot cake oats like 50 + times this year(?) lol.....each. twin that is ! ;] thats a lot of carrots wowwowohh...!!
Peanut butter, almond butter, hazelnut butter, pistachio butter, cashew butter, coconut butter! a phase of PB&CO madness!!
larabars! (LOVE and always will!)
and of course the occasional mishap like this. ekks lol..that was so bad.
and came to the conclusion that we prefer not to eat certain things.

wow that post was so funny-sad-embarrassingly bad :P haha...

Eliza's first blog post, breakfast. 4 grain oatmeal cooked in 1% milk(!wow...things have changes!) a banana cooked in and a nature valley PB crunchy bar on top and dashed with cinnamon. i remember taking this pic in a hurry and not even thinking my blog would ever be something that would go on and on....Maya started her blog 1 day later!

Favorite holiday cookie: gingersnap cookies

favorite winter meal: roasted sweet potatoes and squash and apple with caramelized onions and sage,thyme and rosemary.

favorite winter breakfast: oatmeal, dates, walnuts, crystallized ginger and brown sugar and cinnamon

favorite seasonal hot beverage:chai latte

favorite seasonal winter fruit: medjool dates. and persimmons!

favorite seasonal winter veggie: kambocha squash. and kale. we have prob. ate kambcoha every day for the past 1.5 months!! hehe. kambocha head? ;)

favorite seasonal dessert: mom's coconut tapioca pudding. must have this year!

favorite holiday memory: having lox and bagels at our aunts apartment xmas morning! and waking up excited to open presents and getting an American girl doll :) ohh and when we were 5 we were so scared of santa clause that mom had to tell us he wouldnt come becasue we are jewish. lol..couldnt sleep for days.lol.

looking forward to this holiday: enjoying baked goods and warm drinks :) baking!! spending time with each other. baby cakes cup cakes :) seeing the city all lit up! visiting the tree in the city, ice skating, and shopping! most of all being in NYC. so beautiful.
and the music! and lights!

-i say that so often...but..

i need to start living life like it was my last. do those things, i always say i will do but never do.
.i am talking about fun things. those little things that make me happy. bring back memories, give me a warm happy feeling. it is the season after all. and i am going to embrace each day
with joy and a smile. eat that cookie. go out to eat. wear my favorite dress just because

! get a spontaneous seasonal latte a la starBux. who knows! possibilities are endless arent they? when you live in the moment and embrace life! make each day count! nothing is impossible! stop hiding from it all and
jump in and let go!
playing hide and go seek with the real me? and i am on a hunt to find me...i am thinking i am hiding in a garden covered in vines and roses waiting for the right time to start to live and come out? i am in there somewhere! i have just been on holiday for a few years and i come back to say hello and laugh and play for a while and then go back into that "safe" lonesome garden. but i am found...i am finding me and that garden is turning into a worldddd of endless possibilities with countless hours of the day and countless macaroons :)

we love fashion, and always love seeing what the little pip-squeeks are wearing, we find children's clothing and fashion so cute and charming and is becoming more high fashion now.
as little ones we both were usually dressed in lots of layers, patterned tights, and socks, hats, wool jackets and sweaters, lauran ashley, gap kids, and osh kosh... always bundled up in the cold months. my mom loved dressing up her little twinnies! :)

ok, :)
this post is all over the place, just some of fashions we are loving lately.
popping pastel bright colors, on accessories, shoes, tights(or leggings)nail polish, and such, paired with simple basic tops, high waisted skirts, and shorts, light weight dresses & jumpers.
but we will always stand by our favorite, black opaque tights, which has been such a staple for us for ages.

American apparel romper, we own almost every color. ah. so comfy perf. for summer, and the beach. we like to wear high waisted skirts over it, just bare, tights under and layered tees.

boy friend blazer, def a staple for the fall. love! also a leather jacket,spotted one we like at uo. and of course others that are out of the $$ range. bummer.

popping colors on tights(aa) at first glance its like WOW..but we love it, and paired with a neutral, or simple upper garment, it tones it down.

one of our favorite designers since forever has always been Marc Jacobs. we love going to the shop on Bleeker street and looking around picking up some affordable little accessories. people watching, and sitting across the street vat the park and people watching. we love MJ ads too, love the saturation of the colors, simplicity, and avant gaurd approach..

This look has been seen multiple times on celebs such as Sienna Miller Mary-Kate and Ashley,in nylon magazine and on the runway aswell. we really like the look of soft braided hair like this...its very whimsical yet maiden Swedish girl. but we like it!

Its about time! Mary-Kate and Ashley are launching a higher end clothing line! It's called The Row and it will be available at barneys, the prices will range from $150-$850, And WE cant wait to get our hands on at least a couple of their items! we've been HUGE fans of these savvy sisters for years, there's a diminutive amount of aspects we don't relish about them, with their fashion sense high on our list.:) We have always dreamed of something like this to happen...But lets face it, Wall-mart isn't really our thing... The name "The Row" was inspired by Savile row, the famous London street, known for their timeless tailoring, its a pretty relevant name considering their lines rudiment piece is that of a silky, slouchy tee-shirt that is practically seamless, with only one French seam that runs down the back, this technique has only been heard of for making high-end couture pieces. these stylish sisters with a point of view can accomplish anything they put there mind to.

Topshop is a ritual for any fashionable brit, its a pretty affordable shop with chic and trendy finds... but they have launched a higher-priced collection available in limited quantities. the Biba-esque Art Deco theme is amazing full of fit-and-flare dresses and coats with perked-up shoulders and belled sleeves, cardigans and vests, and the cool geometric prints on satin, everything is quite pleasing. The best part of the show was the pair of high-waisted black flared denims with deep, shoe-covering cuffs, genius to say the least! they'll be ordering these up in bulk overnight!

If you live or you're just visiting New York, don't forget about Brooklyn, for great restaurants, cinematic coffee shops, and wonderful shopping. Sometimes an escape from Manhattan can be nice, while still getting a dose of what the great city has to offer, but with more of a small town feel.Brooklyn is where the young creative types go for some peace and quiet. The funky picturesque brown-stone neighbor hoods of Clinton Hill,Fort Greene,Atlantic avenue, Williamsburg, and park slope have alot to offer.
here are some of our favorite restaurants in Brooklyn...

Ici, in Fort Greene:A great deal for organic and very fresh French cuisine. named one of the top 5 restaurants in Brooklyn. very affordable, a one of a kind only in Brooklyn!

Jolie, on Atlantic avenue: also French food, a very authentic taste of a typical parissienne cafe, with a beautiful garden patio in the back, its a lovely choice for a spring brunch get together.

Moutarde, on 5th avenue in park slope: also French(what can we say we have a penchant for French cuisine. moutarde meaning mustard has a great diner menu and a cool collection of antique French mustard jars around the space.

chip shop:this British invasion is in park slope. this fish and chip shop is a fun eclectic restaurant. their fried candy bars and twinkies are enough to drive one to this 60's style British pop decored joint. as well as their infamous fatty fried candy bars they have great English trifles Shepard pies fish and chips and various fried delectables:)

Anna Sui explained that her inspiration for her spring collection was drawn from looking at pre-Pop Andy Warhol and other commercial artists,and interiors such as Victorian arm chairs and other furniture pieces inspiring silk charmeuse dresses. we really liked the whimsical feel of this collection. and the various hats and hoods, it was like a spunky Marie Antoinette!

1.Savory Ice Creams: Outrageous ice cream experiments can be found world-wide. Savory ice cream's beauty lies in the way it allows chefs to push boundaries and play with unexpected flavor combinations.Just imagine Romaine ice cream, tomato sorbet and even a daring Rouquefort-Sautern ice cream...

2.Flavored Salts: Pink salt mined in the Peruvian Andes, black lava salt from Cyprus, ruddy Alaea salt from Hawaii, gray sea salt, smoked salts (a big seller at Dean & Deluca), herb-flavored salts, Tahitian vanilla sea salt, even truffle-flavored salt

In Woody Alens classic new york film, Annie Hall, Diane Keaton pulls off the over sized mens wear look perfectly, with her tiny frame and strong confidence. She was the first to do this androgynous look and ever since then she has inspired others to do the same. we love Diane Keaton, she is one of our all time favorite actresses, and we love her style! If you haven't seen this film, we strongly suggest you GO rent it! its wonderful.

we LOVE them(alot)...and dont care what people say about there fashion sense.
we love the way they both are dressed in this video,they always suceed in originality and sticking to what they like, starting trends not following ,we admire that about them. we especially adore Ashleys red hat and leather jacket,marykates ankle boots ,and her huge sweater!

Here are a few of our favorite food finds for a day of shopping!

Magnolia Bakery
This west village neighborhoold treasure located on bleeker street is a must for anyone with a sweet tooth! nothing on the menu has less than a spectacular dose of sugar. The lines can be outrageouly long but its worth it! hey, and its convienently located next to the Marc by Marc Jacobs boutique...What more can a girl ask for?

Hampton Chutney.
once you step into this calm little Dosa shop you will forget all the caoses of the city. this is definetly our favorite lunch while spending a day in SoHo. what are dosas? well there light crispy sour dough crepes filled with indian inspired ingredients like the classic indian spiced patatoe filling, but both of our favorite is the one with spinach goat cheesse and roasted onions. and you get to pick a chutney either cilantro, Curry, Mango, Tomato, or Peanut, they are all delicious and tangy, everything here tastes homey and comforting...dont forget to try their yummy oatmeal cookies and authentic indian chai tea!

on prince street, its a wonderful lively french restaurant, very trendy and popular, but most of all there food and famous breads and pastries are tres bien!

this is on spring street of course...this is a great health food-ish restaurnat, the food is all organic,they have a non militant approach to cooking, theres alot of delicious vegetarian options and other beautifully prepared dishes, we love this kind of food. its a great brunch place.

This is in the meat packing district on little twelth street, this trendy french diner has been around for ages it is open 24/7 and you can spot anyone from models, and transvestites to old folks! the food is great, great french fries, burgers, mussels, and salades etc...

sccops:
on bleeker, well... its a gelato parlor...really really really good, you should go!!! we love their white chocolate gelato its amazing. they have cool flavors, heidi klum loves this place fyi.

risotorria:
in the west village. this small italian cafe specializes in risotto and has non gluten options there flavors of risotto go on and on. they also have yummy thin crust personal pizzas, pastas and salads aswell.

She has been in so many films in her career its quite crazy. now shes the new face of marc jacobs spring 2007 and shes doing add campaigns for for gap and karl lagerfeld ...and had a layout in teen vogue a while back. Fashion Week Daily reported that her entire wardrobe had to be custom made, due to her extremely petite size...

Its an updated more chic version of a lumberjack mens shirt. The fabric is so soft she is tempted to sleep in it!

We love american apparel beacuse they dont follow trends, they have pretty much the same amazing basics every season. They always have amazing confortable things. its very wearable...its basic but fashiion foward! The clothing is good quality and made in downtown L.A.

Alice Ritter is an up and coming paris born designer...some of her peices have been featured in vogue and elle, the line is sold at Barneys and Colette in paris. She is our new fav! her aestetic is minimalistic and chic with monocromatic retro hues! its feminine, romantic and bold, with a vintage feel...it's pretty beautiful we think...

Food: Ladurée

If you are visiting paris, Laduree is a must!! Laduree has simply the best pasteries and macaroons ever! Their specialty are macaroons and they are to die for!!!!!!!!! they are a perfect little sandwhich like cookie. Small round,light and airy but yet crunchy.some are filled with creme and some jam. They have the most delightful flavors that change each season. To name a few, pastachio, rose, cassis, cofee, vanilla, caramel, hazelnut, violet and lemon. The patiserie itself is beautifly decorated, down to the window display the dinning area,and the wait staffs uniform. The whole place fills you with happiness and romance. It has a Marie Antoinette feel, pastel colors, satin ribons and amazingly beautiful packaging. If you are not planning to take a trip to Paris they sell these magnificent little macaroons at Fuchon in nyc and Maison Du Chocolat in nyc.
